Cookie policy

One functional cookie, local storage for your wheels, and no tracking of any kind.

Cookies in short

LuckyWheel uses one cookie, which remembers the language you choose, and your browser’s local storage, which keeps your wheels and settings on your device. There are no advertising cookies, no audience-measurement cookies and no third-party cookies: our pages load nothing from other websites.

All of this is strictly necessary for features you ask for, so it does not require your prior consent and you will not see a cookie banner here. You can still delete everything at any time, as explained below.

NamePurposeDuration
lh_langRemembers the language you picked in the language menu (en, fr, ar or es), so our home address opens in that language12 months

It is set by LuckyWheel itself, only after you choose a language, and contains nothing but the language code. It is never shared with anyone else and only travels over secure connections.

What local storage keeps

Local storage is a small space your browser keeps for each website. Unlike a cookie, it is never sent to our server, and it has no expiry date: it stays until you delete it. LuckyWheel uses the following keys, all starting with lh:.

KeyWhat it keeps
lh:indexThe list of your saved wheels: title, template, last use and number of entries
lh:w:…One per wheel: its entries, weights, colors and settings
lh:r:…One per wheel: its last 500 results and the scores
lh:trashDeleted wheels, kept for 30 days so you can restore them
lh:lastThe last wheel used on the home page, to reopen it
lh:prefsYour preferences: theme, sound, vibrations, voice, reduced animations, classroom mode, keyboard shortcuts and whether the install tip was shown
lh:colsThe columns shown in the List editor
lh:t:…, lh:raffle:…, lh:instagram:…, lh:teams:…, lh:coin:…, lh:dice:…Options, history and scores of each tool (yes or no, number, letter, times tables, truth or dare, raffle, teams, coin, dice)
lh:langbarThat you closed the language suggestion banner
lh:vThe version of the storage format

While a tab is open, session storage also notes which of your wheels is open on each page (lh:s:…); this disappears when you close the tab. It also counts the spins of your visit (lh:pwa), so the suggestion to install the app only appears after the second one. Finally, so that the site works offline, your browser keeps copies of the pages and files you have visited in its cache storage. These copies hold no personal data and are replaced with each update of the site.

No advertising or tracking cookies

LuckyWheel shows no ads and uses no analytics or audience-measurement service, so no such cookie is ever set. Our pages load no fonts, scripts, videos or buttons from other websites, which means no third party can place cookies through them either. If you share a wheel on WhatsApp, you leave LuckyWheel, and WhatsApp’s own policy then applies.

If advertising or audience measurement is ever introduced, we will revise this page first, and a certified consent tool will ask for your choice before any optional cookie is set. Nothing optional will be switched on by default.

How to delete or block them

To erase everything LuckyWheel keeps on a device, open your browser settings and clear the cookies and site data for this site; most browsers also offer it from the site information icon next to the address. Before you do, download a full backup from My wheels if you want to keep your wheels.

You can also block cookies or storage for this site. The wheel keeps working, but your language choice is not remembered and your wheels are not saved, which a notice tells you. To learn what else we do, or do not do, with data, read the privacy policy or ask us through the contact form.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no cookie banner on LuckyWheel?

Because we only use storage that is strictly necessary for features you ask for: one cookie for your language and local storage for your wheels. Rules such as the EU ePrivacy Directive exempt this kind of storage from consent. A consent banner would only appear if we ever added advertising or audience measurement, which is not the case today.

Will clearing my cookies delete my wheels?

It depends on what you clear. Deleting cookies alone only forgets your language choice. Clearing “site data”, which many browsers do together with cookies, also erases local storage, and with it your wheels, history and trash. Download a full backup first, then use Restore in My wheels to bring everything back.
